Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At The Grove, we pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive, supportive school for all children, including those with additional needs. We use the document below to help us identify those pupils who will benefit from enhanced provision in order to achieve their potential and thrive within our setting.
Please refer to our SEND policy and SEND information report for further information and contact the school if you have any enquiries regarding your child and Special Educational Needs.

Intent:
To ensure SEND provision is effective, individualised and consistent for all children on the SEND Register. To ensure all stakeholders, for each SEND child across The Grove, are involved in decisions about their targets and support and also aware of their progress and progression in their needs.
Implementation:
Time spent in class, working with the children on the SEND Register will be crucial. Without a personal understanding of our SEND children’s needs, as well as a clear support for members of staff supporting them, provision will not be as effective as it needs to be. SEND children will be aware of the support that is being put in place for them and the reasons behind why it is happening, at an age appropriate level. Parents/ Carers will also be involved in the implementation/ review process to ensure they are supporting the child at home and that everyone is focused on assisting the child to reach their full potential.
Scheduled meetings, with all class teachers, will happen 3 times a year to ensure staff are able to share needs, concerns and progress about all children on the SEND Register as well as giving them the opportunity to raise any new concerns for children that may need additional support.
Impact:
All children on the SEND Register will receive some form of personalised support, suited to their needs, to ensure as a school we are doing everything possible to help them to reach their full potential.
All SEND children will be given the best chance possible to access the learning within their year group and to feel confident, happy and settled during their time at school.
All stakeholders will feel involved with plans for our SEND children and will be accountable for their part in closing the gap/ ensuring they are able to succeed during their time at The Grove.
